Engine block restoration step by step with AQUABLASTING

Starting condition

An aluminium block after hundreds of thousands of kilometres: baked-on oil, carbon and oxidation in every recess. The chemical route is slow and cannot reach everywhere.

Preparation and masking

Before loading we plug the channels and position the block so the nozzle can reach critical spots. We choose fine glass beads.

The blasting itself

With even passes we cover the whole surface. The water film protects sealing faces and fine edges. Carbon and oxidation vanish, the aluminium gets a clean matte tone.

The result

A block ready for dimensional inspection and assembly — no dust in the channels and no thermal stress on the material.
